An Extra-Ordinary life of an Ordinary Man!!! - Part II

This is a part II of the story, keep informing me, though i was looking for more comments...
Looking forward for your words of wisdom!! ;)

Raja Hukum Singh, the ruler of the riyasat (city) of Burewala, Punjab, United India. Hukum Singh is very happy with the developments which are taking place. He is happy to listen that the Gore (Britishers) are going to leave this country in few days or few months. Since 1940, he is supporting the freedom fighters in any possible way he can, and presently, in 1946, he can see a free India. His efforts are going to pay off; even Gandhiji himself acknowledged once that without Hukum Singh, in the northern territory, the fight against the foreign rulers would not have taken place.
Hukum Singh was a great ruler and he was following his family legacy. His father Rudra Pratap Singh was a great ruler. During his days, the people never had to sleep without eating, there were no thieves and everyone was so happy. Hukum Singh continued the same legacy, he never thought he is a ruler, he thinks of himself as an administrator, who acts as a facilitator. He has earned a lot of respect not only from his own riyasat, but also from his neighbors.
Everyone agitated at the beginning, to take this fight forward against the Britishers, but then Hukum Singh made them realize how a free country can be, he himself was educated in United Kingdom, but he learned about freedom more than academics. He took it to himself to convince the nearby rulers that this fight should be taken. He narrated all of them what the benefits going to be in the future, and it took him 2 long years, but eventually all of it paid off.
Hukum Singh did not know what was coming his way; he did not know that Britishers will come up with something like this, to divide his India into 2 parts, and that too on the basis of religion. His neighbor was Sultan Zia Khan. Zia and Hukum were more than friends, since their childhood they were together, studying together, living in each others palaces for days and weeks, and their fathers were all so happy to see their friendship taking shape in the future.
Zia Khan was all with Hukum, he always believed in what Hukum said, he never thought of anything else, and when it came to fight against, and then he was the first one to say yes. But when they listen to the news, the division on the basis of religion, they were shocked, none of them thought it this way. They were fighting to live together in peace and this is how it is shaping, they thought!!!
They both met Gandhiji & Jinnah, told them their concerns, but there wasn’t any solution to it. The decision for this was already taken. To divide, we, as 2 individuals. They wondered, because they never gave it a thought, about their religion, their practices, they loved each other as human, and now, Hindu & Muslim. None of them was able to understand all this, and their mind too wasn’t able to tell them what is going on. They were angry, and they decided not to give up, now the fight against their own country men. Not to get divided on the basis of religion.
The year is 1948, things have changed a lot, but they didn’t, many were killed by the name of religion, but they never thought of giving up, on the name of Allah or Ram, for them it was all one, the way to reach him may be different. This was the time when tension was the highest, no wonder more than a million people were killed, it was a massacre, Gore left India, and they leave behind a dirty deed...
The agitation against Hukum Singh was there, because he was a Hindu ruler, in a Muslim nation. Hukum Singh somehow convinced them in the beginning that the division won’t be there for long, he thought that eventually people will understand that it was all a game, played by few to victimize all of us. But nothing happened, the situation got worsened. There were forces which wanted Hukum Singh to leave Pakistan, at any cost. Every time they tried till now, Zia Khan was there, in front of Hukum, fighting against all odds, for his friend, for human relationship.Somehow,
Hukum Singh started to think of his future, he was worried of his daughter, Pia and his son Ranveer...
To be continued...
